CREATION

The Origins of Inspyre

Inspyre is, above all, the story of two passionate BMX Race enthusiasts: Marc Lecossois and Dorian Riou.

Both grew up immersed in the BMX world. After years of riding, building bikes, and exchanging ideas with other riders, they decided to take the leap: to create the brand they had always dreamed of having as riders.

Marc competed in BMX at a high level for over 25 years, including 10 years in the Elite category. He knows what the sport demands, what riders expect, and the discipline required to perform. After several years working for a major BMX distribution company as a sales manager and then product manager, he founded Frenchys Distribution in 2005, with the goal of offering something different: niche brands, top-tier service, and true field expertise.

Dorian, on the other hand, started BMX at just three years old. He often says he doesn’t even remember his first laps on a track… but one thing is certain: BMX has never left him.

From a young age, he spent weekends tinkering with his brother and father building parts, dismantling frames, comparing geometries. He devoured magazines, collected catalogs, and watched BMX Race VHS tapes on repeat.

Equipment, tech, and fine details: he’s been passionate about them from day one. After several years working in a bike shop and later for a MTB/BMX distributor, he joined the Frenchys adventure at the end of 2014.

An Idea That Becomes Obvious

For years, Marc and Dorian distributed brands, built bikes, and supported teams. But deep down, something was always missing.

A bike that truly reflected who they are. A bike designed for those who live and breathe BMX every day — without compromising on reliability, performance, or style.

So the question came up:

Why not create our own brand?

Not to do “like the others”, but to build an independent, honest brand that stays true to the real values of BMX.

The idea grew — feeding conversations at the office, discussions in race paddocks, and impromptu brainstorms in airport lounges.

And one day, on a flight back from a trip to Asia, the lightbulb moment happened.

INSPYRE was born.

“Creating bikes we want to ride, bikes that inspire us.”

A Brand Born on the Track

Since 2016, Inspyre has moved forward with a single goal in mind: to design bikes that are reliable, high-performing, and stylish — bikes built for every stage of a rider’s progression, from their first gate to the international podiums.

Every product is developed in-house, tested in real conditions with our riders, and refined until it meets the expectations of those who ride every day. This connection to the field is the core of Inspyre’s DNA.

Today, the brand is distributed in multiple countries around the world.

But what drives us from the beginning hasn’t changed:

  • A genuine passion for BMX
  • The desire to create gear we’re proud to ride
  • And above all, the ambition to push BMX forward — the right way.

WHO WE ARE ?

At Inspyre, we believe that living BMX is about more than lap times and podiums.

Yes, we design bikes built to perform, to go fast, to win.

But above all, what drives us is the passion for riding — the kind that pushes you to train harder, to enjoy every session with your crew, to send it one more time “just for fun.”

RIDERS THROUGH AND THROUGH — IT’S WHO WE ARE.

At Inspyre, we speak the same language as you.

We know what it’s like to spend hours at the track, to dream about a new frame, to build, rebuild, and fine-tune again and again.

We’re riders before we’re a brand.

Our journey took a real turn in the summer of 2016, with a simple idea: to launch a BMX brand created by riders, for riders — driven by high technical standards and a strong commitment to quality.

A few months later, the very first EVO was born: a race-ready bike built for those who want to ride hard, with no compromises.

It was an instant success. The message was clear.

Inspyre was no longer just an idea — it had become a respected brand on the gate and in the pits.

THE CONCORDE

The Beginning of the CONCORDE Story

Beyond our ambition to create the best complete bikes possible, we had a clear goal from the very beginning:

to design a high-end frame capable of meeting the demands of the world’s top riders and performing at the highest level of international competition — World Cups, World Championships... nothing less.

From the launch of Inspyre in 2016, Jérémy Rencurel joined the adventure. And we got to work right away.

2D, 3D, prototypes, testing… We explored every option: tube shapes, variable thicknesses, stiffness around the bottom bracket, frame balance… A true team effort between engineers, riders, real-world feedback, and constant refinements.

A true performance lab, fueled by passion and a relentless eye for detail.

A Name That Lives Up to the Vision

It’s 2017. The World Championships in Rock Hill (USA) are approaching, and our goal is crystal clear: arrive with a frame ready to take on the highest level of competition.

And like many good ideas, this one came over a coffee.

We’re talking about speed, technology, precision… and the conversation drifts to the story of the legendary Franco-British supersonic jet from the 1970s.

The Concorde.

An iconic aircraft capable of flying from Paris to New York in just 3.5 hours.

A masterpiece of engineering, style, and performance.

The connection is obvious.

The name is found.

Our frame would be called CONCORDE.

The first prototype

The result of months of R&D is finally coming to life.

The first tubes take shape, welded with precision. Every angle, every thickness, every detail has been carefully designed, tested, and approved.

The very first Inspyre prototype is born.

A raw blend of metal, passion, and ambition.

Jérémy takes the prototype to every round of the World Cup.

Each track, each corner, each jump becomes an open-air lab.

The feeling is right, the lap times are solid, and above all: the geometry gets unanimous approval. It delivers exactly what we were aiming for — reactivity, balance, and precision.

That’s when one of the key foundations of our high-end frames is born: Reactiv Geometry.

A geometry designed to respond instantly to the rider’s input, with no compromise on control or stability.

A solid foundation we’ll keep evolving — always with one goal in mind: performance on the track.

After several months of intense development, the first final prototypes of the Concorde are finally ready. In May 2017, Jérémy receives the frame and begins testing on the track.

The feeling is there, and adjustments come one after another. Each session helps refine the details — tweaks, feedback, impressions… the dialogue between rider and tech team is constant.

And very quickly, the hard work pays off:

Just a few weeks later, Jérémy and the Concorde reach the Elite World Championship final — on their very first international appearance.

A powerful moment that validates every technical decision, every demand, and the entire vision behind this frame.

An exceptional debut for the Concorde — and the beginning of a great story.

Like a fine wine, the Concorde has only improved with time.

Since its first version, we’ve refined it, strengthened it, evolved it — always in close collaboration with our riders.

Every bit of trackside feedback, every detail observed in race conditions helped us push this frame even further.

And then came 2022.

Four years after its official release, the Concorde delivers a historic season:

Elite World Cup victory

World Championship title.

A milestone. A crowning achievement. But above all, a new motivation to keep pushing the limits.

By then, we were already deep into the development of the Concorde V3

PARIS OLYMPIC GAMES 2024

An Olympic First

Paris 2024 will mark a historic milestone for Inspyre.

For the very first time, a rider equipped with an Inspyre frame will line up at the Olympic Games.

That rider is Pietro Bertagnoli — a talented Italian racer, driven, dedicated, and true to the spirit of the brand.

Seeing him represent his country — and race on the Concorde — on the world’s biggest sporting stage is a tremendous source of pride, and a recognition of the work we’ve put in over the years.

Designing a frame capable of performing at the highest level — all the way to the Olympics — was once a dream.

Today, it’s a reality.

And this is only the beginning.

INNOVATION

Helping our riders perform at their best is our top priority.

And that means one thing: relentlessly investing in innovation.

But at Inspyre, innovation has never been about trends or hype.

From the beginning, our technical approach has been guided by common sense, real-world experience, and one simple ambition: to make a difference, not just follow the crowd.

Our geometries, tubing, and design choices have always served a clear purpose: to bring our vision of BMX Racing to life on the bike.

No compromises, no gimmicks. Every technical decision is carefully considered and tested on the track.

A concrete example: from our earliest frame generations, we made the decision to integrate disc brakes.

Not because braking is critical in BMX — it isn’t, and we know that — but because we faced a real issue with carbon rims, whose braking performance with pads was subpar.

Switching to disc brakes not only eliminated that limitation, but also allowed us to lighten the rims, improve the entire frame setup, and offer much greater and more precise chainstay adjustment.

It was a bold move at the time — but today, it feels like the obvious choice. In fact, we were one of the very first brands to offer it on our complete bikes.

And that’s just one example among many.

At Inspyre, innovation is at the core of who we are.

It never stays on paper — it comes to life through prototypes, rigorous track testing, and constant feedback from our riders.

It’s this demanding process that allows us to push boundaries, version after version, without ever losing sight of what truly matters: performance, efficiency, and reliability on the track.
